Diseases That May Be Associated With Erection Issues

Most men have at one time or the other experienced some kind of erectile dysfunction. The word erectile dysfunction simply describes a condition where you have a problem in achieving and maintaining an erection long enough to complete sexual activity. Symptoms related to erectile dysfunction range from mild to severe. Many men suffering from this condition are either unaware of it or they are too embarrassed to talk about it with their friends. However, erectile dysfunctions can be effectively treated even if you don’t have any idea about what is the underlying cause of your problem.

Diabetes mellitus is commonly associated with both male impotence and erectile dysfunction. This health condition has many symptoms that can be attributed to a heart disease however; it is only considered as a factor for approximately 20% of patients. According to researchers, diabetes mellitus is a result of the malfunctioning of the nerves that are responsible for controlling blood glucose levels in the body.

You may have symptoms such as the following: difficulty getting an erection, excessive sweating, palpitations, lightheadedness, dizziness, nervousness, and problems concentrating. These symptoms can also be associated with several psychological factors such as depression, anxiety, stress, and fatigue. If these psychological factors are ignored and left untreated, the patient may experience his inability to perform sexually as an indirect effect. If you suspect that you may be experiencing some or all of the above mentioned symptoms of erectile dysfunction, you should immediately consult with your doctor to identify the root of your problem and take appropriate measures to remedy it.

Vascular disease refers to disorders or conditions that are associated with the blockage or restriction of the blood vessels. For instance, if the vessels in the penis are constricted or blocked, erectile dysfunction will occur as a result. On the other hand, ED may also be caused by the lack of proper cardiovascular structure in the body. For instance, if a person’s arteries or veins are weak and their walls are too thin, this will lead to the body’s inability to receive enough oxygen, causing the heart to be underpowered and to fail to pump blood properly. This is one of the most common causes of ED.

The third kind of disease that is believed to cause the majority of cases of erectile dysfunction is diabetes. Diabetes is a condition wherein the body is unable to produce sufficient amount of insulin. This condition is considered common among people who are obese or those who consume large amounts of sugary foods or carbohydrates. For this reason, diabetics are more likely to develop the disease than other people who are healthy. A person who has a mild form of diabetes is usually able to control it on their own, but people who suffer from severe forms of diabetes will need to undergo insulin injections to bring their blood sugar levels under control.

Lastly, a person who has high cholesterol or high blood pressure is also a good candidate for having erectile dysfunction. High cholesterol or high blood pressure can be brought about by many different factors. However, these conditions are often times caused by underlying health problems, such as poor diet, high stress, or other physical conditions. People with diabetes or heart disease may have high cholesterol or high blood pressure due to their underlying medical conditions, but they are also prone to having this condition because their cardiovascular and/or circulatory systems are weak. This weakness could mean that the circulation of blood is not as smooth and abundant as it should be, which could result in erectile dysfunction as a symptom.

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is the inability to have and maintain an erection sufficiently long enough for intercourse. Having erectile dysfunction from time to time is not necessarily a sign of a serious health problem. However, if erectile dysfunction continues as a persistent issue, it may contribute to relationship difficulties and increase stress. If you have any questions or concerns about your erectile dysfunction, please consult your doctor immediately.

It is important to understand that erectile dysfunction, while more prevalent in men than in women, can occur at any time and in any form. Some of the more common conditions that might lead to an episode include cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and atherosclerosis. While heart disease and high blood pressure are the leading causes of Erectile Dysfunction, there are other conditions that can lead to this problem. Typically, if not caused by one of these, they are a warning sign to the approaching end of your life.

Blood Pressure Drugs: Certain drugs, including those used for treating hypertension, can cause erectile dysfunction. Your doctor will not be able to pinpoint the drug, but if you have previously taken hypertension medications, you should discontinue the medication. Likewise, if you are currently on blood pressure drugs, you should stop taking them while experiencing ED. If you do not stop taking the medications, you may be putting yourself at risk for heart disease.

Depression: Depression has long been known to play a role in the development of erectile dysfunction. In recent years, the number of psychiatrists and psychologists who believe that erectile dysfunction results primarily from psychological factors has increased dramatically. It is believed that depression interferes with the process of releasing testosterone. Depression can also increase the levels of cortisol, which is a hormone produced when an individual experiences stress or anxiety. In either case, both of these hormones play a significant role in the penis’ growth and maintenance. Studies indicate that depression has a positive impact on the area of the brain that controls erection, but that it is a negative impact on sexual function overall.

Lifestyle Choices: While health conditions cannot always be attributed to the development of erectile dysfunction, they are often present in the history of someone who is experiencing the condition. For example, lifestyle choices such as smoking, unhealthy food choices, lack of exercise (men usually benefit from kegel exercises), and lack of sleep can all be contributing factors. In addition, some medications, over-the-counter and prescription, can lead to ED. If you suffer from one or more of these lifestyle choices, lifestyle changes may need to be made in order to improve your sexual function. Additionally, certain health conditions can lead to the inability to have an erection, such as a blockage in the male prostate.

ED affects millions of men globally, so it is easy to see why there are so many different causes for male sexual arousal dysfunction. While erectile dysfunction can be treated with medication, lifestyle changes, or a combination of any of these, it is important that you rule out any of these causes of erectile dysfunction before treating your symptoms. This will ensure that you get the best treatment possible and will help to ensure that you don’t develop other health concerns as a result. Remember, all cases of erectile dysfunction are different, and each situation requires a unique solution.
